Make sure to have your blood sugar/glucose meter, test strips, and lancet (needle) together first.

Wash your hand and insert a strip into your blood glucose meter.

Clean fingertip with alcohol swab and use a new lancet (small needle) to prick your fingertip.

Touch the drop of blood to the test strip that is in your sugar/glucose meter.

Place sugar/glucose meter on a flat surface and wait for your sugar level results to appear on the meter screen.
